Pre-employment Nursing Exam

Published

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone can help me out. I just recently pass the board last Nov 2014 and now I'm waiting for hospitals to call me for the exams and interview. I was just wondering, what kind of exam does the hospital give on the pre-employment? I know medication and fluid computations will be given, but other than that what else do they give? Is there a specific topic that that they usually use?

I actually applied in the following hospitals:

â–«Asian Hospital

â–«Manila Doctors Hospital

â–«Our Lady of Lourdes

â–«San Juan de Dios hospital

I'm realy having troubles studying everything, since I got stuck in a BPO industry for 2 years and I think, i just need to compensate for topics that I hardly recall from those 2 years.

Your thoughts and answers will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!☺

I had the same issue. I stressed for nothing because they were pretty basic knowledge. If you can pass the NCLEX, you will have no problem with this. Just remember your basic lab values and brush up on some basic nurse knowledge like how to take a blood pressure or what to when a patient reports chest pain. At least that's how my tests went. Yours might be different.

Many thanks angeloublue22! Well, I still know the basic Vital signs together with their range and laboratory N values. It's just that I do not know where to start reviewing. But I'll keep in mind the ABC's of nursing.

Oddly enough they tested my friend on the correct way to take a bp. She failed because she didn't inflate to see when the pulse went away to measure how far to pump it to take the bp then wait 3 minutes to pump back up. It was unrealistic but you just have know the right way to do it. They usually give you more then one chance to pass also. There really isn't much to study, the knowledge is there. You'll do great!
