Pre-diabetic

I am curious about the term 'pre-diabetic'. How many of you have heard this term used before? What defines a pre-diabetic, in your opinion? What have you been taught about this term, either in continuing education or in your nursing program?

my fasting blood sugar is always below 90-100 but my riglycerides are sky high and md made a determination of prediabetes

trying to get in a bit of walking and i desparately need to lose weight..sticking head in sand ineffective so far
