Hello!! I passed the HESI:D now its time to start application process! Any one else out there?? time is flying..I'm also applying to UT-Arlington!!
I hope we can all help each other in this thread :).. Good Luck Ya'll!!
hey lovesunshine: if it is from 1:00 - 4:00 only, it many not be the right course. i think you need the cpr/aed course. it is usually around 8 hours. **** please verify with pvamu **** i know for all of the other schools i applied to they required the cpr/aed for health professionals.
the one i took was an hour and half bc i was the only person there lol
liz, lvn: you should be fine, check the schools website to be sure.
bls for health care provider by the american heart association is what they want, not red cross.
they charged everyone (least everyone i asked) with Liability Insurance on our fee statement, but it was only $8.50. we do need heath insurance. submitting a copy of your insurance card is acceptable proof of insurance.
since yall submit everything to the nursing campus on fannin, you dont have to walk in anything, they are good at keeping track of everything they recieve. main campus is what you should be worried about if you need to send anything there. they have a history of losing things
Blackberrie 21: Thanks for the quick reply! I actually read that a course does not need to be repeated more than twice, but the LVN-BSN does not specify that. I will be going there next week to see and Advisor and make sure.
By the way how many days a week is the program? How are you liking it so far?
well i attend the generic program and i think for the lvn to bsn program you can test out of 1 or 2 classes?, so this schedule may look different for you. I go to class 3days out of the week and clinicals 1 day out of the week. I arranged my schedule so that i go to school mon (hlth assessment) and tue (basic concepts), pick my patient after class tue and finish careplan, clinicals wed, off thur, and class friday (patho Yikes!!). i love my schedule this way, and i feel like it makes sense seeing as i have a whole day to recover from clinicals and study for patho.
Im loving everthing so far, its all very interestin and new for me since ive never worked in the medical field. Everythings gettin harder now though, and test are shifting from knowledge based to application based questions.. For example, for our 3rd basic exam, i got a 77!! Lowest grade ive gotten so far, barely passing. However, my grade was close to the highest grade in the class. so many people did very, very bad..like real bad. And this is cause of the switch in testing...So imma a little worried now..its all getting a lil more real now. Still, i love what im doing.

oh yeah the american heart association.
ok the thing is i seen at the va hospital debakey, so i don't need insurance bc i get seen there for free. that might just mean i need to buy insurance just in case i will talk to them on monday. i got everything done all i need is the drug test on monday.
they lost my stuff at con. but good thing i had copies and they were all dated back in january. i had a question could someone be on provisional acceptance or receive a packet to be put on waiting list?
Wow, that's nice! I like that, so im assuming you get to choose your schedule? Like there's different options? That's nice! Thanks for all the info! As for the testing, don't worry you will get used to it, that's how we were, the intro portion we did ok, but then when it changed to the application based it was a big difference at first b/c you have to decide what you would do, and there's usually 2 options that make you really think, but you will learn to decide on those.... sounds like your doing awesome! If there's any more useful information let me know smile
