Is there anyone here starting at Prairie View this Spring or currently attending? I got my acceptance letter about 2 weeks ago....I am so excited...and nervous! Can any PV students give advice on what to expect?

Hey Guys,

Congratualtions to all who got in the program! I got my "Provisional Acceptance package" a week ago. I'm doing my computer and speech class this semester. Now, I'm also working on the documentation. I have a question about CPR classes. Can you guys tell me where did you get your CPR certification from? It would be a great help if you gave me a name of the institution in Houston.

Im gettting mine at the fire station in cypress, tx. But just google it, there are so many and you can find ones in your area. Just make sure its for american heart association. Look at the checklist, it tells you which cpr they require

Thank you Maxpuppy. I tried to search around my area. It says that we are required to take CPR for health care providers. That means, I should select the class that says "BLS for Health care provider". Am I correct?

And, I also tried to look up for facebook group, I don't know why I can't find it. I typed 'PVAMU nursing students'

Thank you once again. You've been a great help for me. I just found that AMerican Medical Institute offer the CPR course daily. I think I'm gonna go there this Tuesday. And, regarding the immunization, I have only got Hep. B vaccines. Can we go and immunize in any pharmacy? coz, there is nothing specifically written in the package.

yeah, you can go anywhere. do you have insurance? i dont have insurance so i got my immunization from riverside clinic on delano.

its 14.99 per shots. so if thats the case with you check out that clinic. its so much cheaper than paying over $50 per shots. just call ahead of time to make sure they have it on stock. for varicella and hep b i got my titer from anylabtestnow. just google it and they have 4 differernt locations here in houston. tell them you're a student and they'll do it for $39 per. for tetorifice, mennigococcals, MMR i got it at the clinic i listed above.

I went to Southwest community clinic. It 's far and you have to wait 2-3 hours but it was really good deal. you can google to see the address. I still havent finish the physical exam, cz dont know where is cheap or where they will sign for physical exam.
