Hi everyone. I had my PPD test read on Thursday (at 48hrs) and it was negative - red but no induration. However, yesterday (a little over 72hrs post-test) there was definite induration. It was about the size of a dime. It has since gone down a little bit, but I can still feel the bump. It's not obvious in that you can't SEE it, but can definitely still feel it. Any advice??? Since it was negative at 48hrs - is it still considered negative? Or is it potentially positive b/c of the induration? By the way, have NEVER had a positive PPD and before this, my most recent PPD was mid-November and was also negative.

I would document it as 0.0mm (we are not allowed to use "negative" in PA) since no induration was present at 48 hours.

Hi,
I would have the nurse who gave you the PPD look at it again. Just to make sure you did not have a hypersensitivity reaction. And yes, you document in mm.

A little off subject (sorry!), but the last time I had a PPD and went back to have it read, there was absolutely NO SIGN of ANYTHING where it was administered. But when I went to have it read, the nurse probably spent 3 minutes feeling of my arm and asking me if I'd ever had a positive result, etc. It was really bizarre as there was absolutely nothing there. I still don't know what to think about that....
