Potential New Job Option

Published

As some of you may know, I took an ADON position about 3 months ago.   It has been somewhat of a disappointment.

Word has gotten around, and the other day, I had a supervisor in the assisted living reacn out to me about a new position.  It would be an RN Case Manager, Monday through Friday job, with on-call once a month.

The job would primarily entail completing admissions and assessments, two things I love.  I would have little to no involvement with the COVID/Infection Control aspect of things, something I pretty much despise.   I would also have a 2nd floor office, instead of one in the basement.

Downside is, there will be a pay cut.  But I can't help but wonder if a fresh start would be good and am considering applying for it.

Thoughts? Has anyone ever switched from SNF to ALF?

So, as some of you may know, I recently started a new position within the last week.   One of the things that I've noticed is that some of my new coworkers are very intense, especially in their personalities.   Several of them are also very particular about desk appearance and overall neatness, almost to the point where absolutely nothing can be on a desk.   I think I can eventually get used to the personalities, although I'll never have a strong one myself.

However, the extreme tidiness tendencies of them is causing me anxiety.   I've never been terribly messy in my previous offices, but I've also never been very tidy or someone that does much cleaning.   Anyone who would visit my home would probably view me as a slob.    And although I do make occasional efforts to try and keep things clean, they are almost never sustainable.

Any tips for working with coworkers who are neat-freaks when you are the farthest from one?  Or, if you're a neat-freak, any suggestions for slobs like myself?
