proctocele
Is it correct to say that this can not happen to any part of a man because male genitals are external? What did they do in the "old days" when a woman had a uterine prolapse? I had a phew PT's with BSO; It was my first time thinking about this.
Ask PT not to strain after surg. Check meds for a stool softener? Help PT to be calm and pleasant. Talk to PT about restrictions and healing.
Gee, I don't think the BSO would have anything to do with this "urine" leaking.
This friend needs to see her GYN/surgeon NOW to determine just what is leaking from her lady parts. The clear, urine like fluid suggests a fistula from bladder or urethra as mentioned before, but you have to rule out drainage from the lady partsl wound as well.
Had a pt. come in just the other day..who was not s/p Hsyt, and had a rectocele. When she beared down, she would "squirt" urine...but had no problems with BMs. She also had a slight rash in her gential area...d/t the incontinence she was having. The resident was surprised to find the rectocele on examination of the lady parts.
Mario, in the real old days, before even my time, women used a pessary to hold up a prolapsed uterus. You still occ. find some older woman using one. Frequently, they got really, really nasty. Though that was usually when the woman had left the thing in for months at a time.
But leaking urine in a young woman is not normal and warrants a trip to the GYN

My girlfriend just called me and told me that she is having leaking out her lady parts, that looks like urine. She even went as far as to cover her urethra and insert a tampon; she says with a little straining the tampon was full. She is taking a diurectic, says she has burning but not a UTI. I have never heard of such a thing and I really don't know where to start, do you have any ideas or heard of such a thing?
