Post for MCC HESI scores, and GPA

Hey, how are you doing? I plan on taking the HESI Exam this winter at MCC. I would like to know what is the math portion like. Does it consist of word problems or just plan math problems?

honestly the math is easy and i suck at math.. know how to do the problems in the hesi book and know your conversions and youll be fine. I thought the vocab was the hardest part.. spend time on that and for the reading part go over how to read what is implied by the passages, that part is tricky.

Hello tipi27. I have also applied for fall 2010 at MCC. My hesi score is a 95.57% and my GPA is a 4.0. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the "letter." I sure hope it comes sooner, rather than later. I was told at the orientation last April that these letters may not come out until May because of all the changes they made to the requirements. Who knows! I also heard that there were a lot less applicants for this fall because many people were unable to complete the requirements on time. Someone said that this is the first year that the hesi test dates didn't fill up. Maybe that will all work in our favor (those of us that applied). Also at orientation, they told us that they expected the GPA and Hesi scores to be much lower than previous years because of the addition of A&P to the hesi and harder classes for the requirements. Shawn and TIPI27, you guys are both in! Those are great scores! I have a 4.0 and a 94% Hesi score. I'm so nervous too. I know what you're saying about the waiting on the edge of your seat. That is great for us that the test dates didn't fill up. It's hard enough to get in to the program. It looks like the GPA were pretty good if just three of us have posted so far and we all have 4.0...WOOHOO!!! Let's keep each other informed. We may be student nurses together for the next two years!

how long do you think it will take them to rank the applicants... i know they said they will start ranking on the 26th... but do you think it will take them weeks to rank everyone? i feel like i could have done it myself in like 3 hours after febuary 15th, but Macomb seems to take forever to do everything. Does anybody know how long the wait will be after the 26th??

Tipi27, I spoke to my girlfriend who is in the program and got in last year. She received her ranking letter on April 1st (or so) and by the 19th of April she got her acceptance letter. By May 1st, she had to put her deposit down for being in the program. So I don't think it will be much longer after that for us. I mean, especially if the mandatory nursing meeting is in May again....plus after that then we WAIT again to find out when we start.....This is really testing our patience; isn't it? Good luck to everyone. Keep us all posted when you guys get your letters! :) We're in this together.

i emailed MCC today and asked them how long it will take to rank everyone and this was their reply..."the letters for the Nursing program will be mailed out tomorrow." hopfully that is true... anyone else have any updates??

OMG!!!! I hope that's true!!! I went in there today and asked and they couldn't tell me anything.
