Hi Angelhu,
I was planning to apply to their ANP program as well. Is it hard to get into? and how long does it take to complete the program?
Hi, Cali31:
Since I already got in to the program, I don't think it is hard...but I know due to the budget cut and not enough professors teaching the program (nation wide), many highly qualified candidates are turned away. It usually takes 2 years to complete, but if you are planning to take parttime jobs and still want to do well at the school, it might takes you 3-4 years. To me, my health and my family is more important than anything. The school will always be there for you. So I am taking my time to go through this prorgram--so that I can learn as much as possible, but also have my life. Please let me know if there's anything I can help you or answer your questions.
Thank you AngelHu for your response! I hope to kit with you throughout your program! I will be finishing up my Msn in a couple of months:)

angelhu,
Is it possible to apply for the ANP straight out of a BSN? I'm currently at the university of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. I'll be done my degree Dec 2013 and I'd like to apply for Calstate for their nurse practitioner programs (not sure which stream yet).
Could you tell me a bit more about admissions? I had a look through their requirements. They say I need licensing in California. As a Canadian, does that mean I just have to find a way to work down there for a bit before applying? That said, is there a minimum amount of clinical experience required before applying for the program? Is there a supplemental application or interview? So many questions!
Please & thank you!

Hi, Grace:
Can you give me your email so I can contatc you directly? There are some things I want to let you know before you make any decision. I lived in Vancouver and went to University of New Brunswick for my BSN. Then I went to Yale for my first MSN (in conology nursing). The nursing schools in Canada and in USA can be very different. And I think here are many difference between east coast and west coast. If you'd like, you can also give me your phone number, and I can skype you. (The issue can be too complicated to use email...)
