I decided not to move forward with MU... they are requiring 35 credits (only accepting 1 of my classes from my MSN) and they are by far the most expensive program. Wilkes has a department which finds your clinical preceptors for you within 40 miles of your house... the only program I’ve seen so far to do this. Leaning towards Wilkes right now.
Yikes! Crazy how much disparity there is among credits and clinical hours required for psych certificate programs. Wilkes is a max of 27 credits. Hopefully I will soon find out what transfer credits will be applied, hoping to have at least 2 courses transfer so I would only need 21 credits ??
I too have MSN (Leadership/Management) and researched post-grad certs. I came up with UC (Cincinnati), Texas Tech, EKU (Eastern Kentucky), and UA (Alabama Tuscaloosa). Leaning toward UA. Two of the three master's level courses that I took at WGU are transferring and will be able to complete the program in 16 months (4 semesters). UA was also the best cost-wise.

Hello everyone! I just started applying to post- grad PMHNP schools. I have my MSN-ED so I am assuming I will need a few pre-reqs that NPs won’t. I have applied to Maryville, Husson, and Wilkes for Fall 2020 admission and University of Cincinnati and University of South Alabama for Spring 2021 admission. So far I have been accepted to Maryville and Wilkes and waiting to hear back from the others. Does anyone have any advice on which program is best? I would like to start sooner rather than later, but will start in the Spring if the program is worth it. I would like to keep cost down as I’ll be paying out of pocket. It has been difficult for me to find quality reviews online. I don’t mind learning independently but still want to be set up for success and have instructors that will provide quality instruction and timely responses. Reputation is also important! Thank you in advance!
