Possible corruption in monitoring program?

Indiana monitoring program, possible abuse of power?

For those who are enrolled or have been enrolled in ISNAP or IPRP, did you self report but then was placed in the regulatory program?  There are two types that determine time served: regulatory if you were reported by someone else and non-regulatory if you self reported. Due to the circumstances, if you self report, less time is served than being reported.

I self-reported but the program placed me in the regulatory program. I was ready for the time and consequences, but I am confused as to why they placed me for more time than what their own program standards state they go by. This causes me concern and I wonder if they are inflating numbers for their own interests. Has anyone experienced this?  There is a class-action suit in Michigan that has gone federal for abuse of power. I am concerned that the IPRP may be exercising unethical and unjust abuse of their power.

I don’t have ISNAP/IPRP experience, but I know the the MI program (HPRP) has found some really shady loopholes that sometimes find self reporting (supposedly non-disciplinary) nurses still in regulatory programs and on BON probation. I almost self reported and was thankful to have found out what I did because evidently they can just decide to do whatever they want. Still not sure what’s gonna shake out with me but we’ll see.

As it relates to that lawsuit, the last thing I’ve heard about it was from back in 2018 so I hope it hurries along, as it could set a precedent for other states perhaps.

It’s not too late to talk to an attorney about what happened in your situation and see if the contract can be turned into non-regulatory if ISNAP was the one who made the mistakes and the BON didn’t require you to be in regulatory/disciplinary status. (TAANA.org is a good source)
