I'm really confused about this especially that I have limited resources for research. So what is the proper positioning?
should it be flat on bed or semi fowler's position? or should it be semi fowler's first then flat on bed eventually or vice versa?
and what is the main rationale for semi fowler's position? is it only related to lung expansion or blood circulation???
please help.

Pt should lay flat as possible. If not completely flat then definitely under 30 degrees HOB.
Do your books go into detail about how the catheters for angiography and angioplasty are inserted? If so, that will point you to the rationale behind this positioning and give you more details as to what the expected activity restrictions are.
You may have more research options than you think. After all, you had internet access to post the question, no? :) What resources are readily available to you and what have you tried outside of Allnurses?
i know this is late but thanks for the reply. i've read articles in the internet about my research. it's just that the answers i get are confusing so i want to get a real nurse's opinion about it. in the end i've figured it out. thanks.
