My name is Stephan. I am the moderator of the "international nurses" thread of the main portugese Nursing Forum. "Forumenfermagem"

I'd like to invite all that are interested to visit our forum and submit any questions, remarks or inquiries to our international thread which you can find in my public profile. On the homepage just click on the "International Nurses" thread.

The forum's main language is Portugese of course, but in the international nurses thread we are able to comunicate with you in German, Dutch, English, Spanish and Portugese. If you have any problems registering (it's free), send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

I'll be posting on this forum, mainly on international issues so I hope I'll be seeing you around.

Hi stephen, just read ur message, im britsh RN working in neonates and im looking to move to portugal in the next 6mths and i was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for info about nursing in portugal (amount of experience, salaries, who to contact etc) cos i dont know where to start looking!!! :o

You can try checking out the forum that he heads over there. If you do a sesarch here on his previous posts, you may be able to come up with a link for it. You just need to click on his name, then pull up his previous posts.:)

Hi, I am a RN with 26 yrs experience from USA. Moving to Portugal and need contact info for Associaçao de Enfermeiras. I want to transfer my license. Please help

You can try reaching him via his e-mail address, he has not been posting here lately.

You cannot transfer your license, you will need to sit for their exam in thier language, as well as pass the language exams. just as if a nurse from another country wished to work in the US.

The only way around that is if the US has any bases there. Otherwise, you have to go thru the entire procedure.
