I've signed up with 2 agencies and have yet to work any shifts out of 10 I signed up for.

Is there that many agency nurses, low census in Portland area hospitals, and/or I signed up with the crummier agencies that don't get work typically in acute tele units?

Any ideas?

i recently joined on with Advantage Nurse Staffing (through a close friend and through nurses who have gone through them previously). i am still finishing the final paperwork stuff, but they do per diems and 13 wk contracts and it sounds like their nurses are usually fairly happy. they're located in Vancouver and they've got a website with contact info. the president ---- was the one to meet me and talk to me about it and he bought me a coffee :) he says he does this with every perspective nurse.

i've also heard decent things about Integrated Healthcare Solutions, but not by someone i know, just online.

Hey lilwbprincess,

Thanks for the PM - I did indeed get it & much appreciated... I just haven't made enough posts yet to send one back. Should be there soon though...

I am definitely signing up with more than one agency - all for hedging my bets :) A nursing school classmate also recommended MSN staffing although she only did a couple of shifts with them.

Anyway... good luck to both of you.

I'm such a nerd...when I was sending you that PM, it felt very familiar...I knew I had commented on your post, but couldn't find it anywhere! Anyway, sorry to send you double info :)
