Hi Everyone
I'm seriously considering this location for the LPN program in Oct. I've been searching to see if anyone has left a recent review of this school and I haven't found anything... Has anyone recently gone through the program at Rocky Hill?

I know a few people at the Branford location. Isn't P & C 40k+ for the whole program...Thats crazy to me
It is expensive:( closer to 30-35k hopefully I can qualify for some grants to help me out. This is my plan B... Did not get a high enough grade in A&P to submit my packet this year for the ADN and I've decided instead of dealing with retaking it now and waiting lists I'll gain some useful experience as an LPN and bridge..
I don't think its a good idea to be a LPN just to become a RN. That's a waste of time!!! There are not a lot of LPN jobs out there. you might find a job posting once in a blue moon. I really don't think the LPN helps you get into the program. The LPN lets you start at the 3rd semester instead of the 1st semester and it sounds cool and all but LPN is a year plus...and those 2 semesters that you miss is a years worth of time. Not to mention you have to do a lot of stuff like take courses for that pre-nursing students don't have to just to bridge over and you need atleast a B-.........So I don't think its a very good idea. My advice is to retake that A&P class. Look on Ratemyprofessors.com so you don't get stuck with a bad teacher. And if you DO decided to be a LPN theres programs for 10k which with grants you might just have to pay half. google LPN programs at your nearest technical high school something should come up.
Heres the website for the cheaper LPN program http://www.cttech.org/lpn/.
I've looked at all my options. All the CT high schools closed their registration while I was still in A&PI and was planning to submit my packet for the ADN. Now the classes have already started (in January)..They all had a much lower pass rate for 2013 for the NCLEX-PN and it concerns me when a school has a pass rate of 55%? I believe it was Vinaltech... The closest one to me. Rocky hill P&C had 100% so I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.
Also for the high school LPN programs you still need A&PII and I haven't gotten that far yet and would need to take it just to apply while P&C incorporates all their classes into their 12 month accelerated program- compared to Ct high schools 18 months so believe me I've done my homework on this! I've weighed the whole RN versus LPN debat in my head for months:(.. Getting into an ADN is not as easy as it seems at our CC. I know getting my LPN won't help me get into a program for ADN I never said it could but I know for myself I'll be walking in with some hands on experience and self confidence in the field. I have many, many friends who had good grades and were wait listed For the ADN and not picked for the lottery. It's heartbreaking. If they don't get picked ( for some twice now) they cannot try again until next Feb. 1st to reapply. And while they are playing the waiting game I will be half way done! Once I have my LPN and I'm ready I just need my A&P 1,2 and I'm all set. I've taken everything else including a good handful that you'll need while in the ADN ( micro, Psych, etc, etc)
