Anyone from these areas? Any info you'd like to share regarding nursing opportunities in general?

I live near Seattle-Tacoma. Sequim is mainly a resort/retirement area and Port Angeles is a port/industry town. Neither are very big places witha lot of job opportunities.
Here is a list of hospitals and care centers near Port Angeles, hope this helps:

also info on Sequim that may help:

Hey!
I've been interested in Sequim, Port Angeles area too....blue hole sounds nice....close to lots of good stuff......big and remote both.....between the best of all worlds.....
what have you found out......please share!
I was thinking since it is an area with lots of retirees....might be an excellent place for an FNP......looking at this job as a future prospect...
how bout you?

There is only one hospital in the Port Angeles WA, Olympic Medical Center. You can go to the site I provided to check job availability. The pay is not what you would receive in Seattle. The cost housing has gone up 30%. A visit and discussion with local realtors may be a good idea.

It looks like through mappers like expedia...it might only take 1 1/2 hrs or so to get to Seattle from Sequim....but I also noticed there was planned work on the floating bridge (that you have to cross to get to ferry), I understand while the bridge is under repair..there will be no alternate.
Is the driving/ferry time accurate?
Presently, I'm travelling about an hour from Key Largo to Miami every day....it's worth it to me......so am willing to do approximately the same to live in a beautiful place!
Any and all information is much appreciated.

i was born and have lived in port angeles my entire life up to this point. im graduating soon and looking to work in a larger hospital in the seattle/tacoma area. our hospital http://www.olympicmedical.org/fac_memHospital.html is actually a great place to work if you want to live out here, which i would love to do later on in my career. there are new grad positions open right now in the ER, CCU, and med surg. pay isnt bad and cost of living isnt either and the olympic peninsula is heaven to those who like the outdoors.

I have a friend in Port Angeles who got a part time job testing nurse aides and she works a couple days a month. I know they are still looking for more people. You can email a resume to them at [email protected]
