here are my answers:
1. what is your medical background and how many
years have you done it?
a.four year degree in recreation therapy
cna for 15 years.
lpn for 4 months
2. what setting do you currently work in?
a. long term care (ltc)
3. what setting would you like to work in once you
get your rn?
a. i would like to do one of the following not
quite sure yet:
1. work in a clinic or hospital doing patient
education
2. work in hr as a nurse recruiter
3. work in ltc as a staff development
coordinator.
4. nursing instructor university or cc
4. how do you keep up your momentum to study for
exams?
a. its hard but i take out at least 1 hour each day
and review my material. i love to learn so its
working for me.
5. if you had to do it all over, would you go to
traditional classroom or stick with distance
learning?
a. classroom but the wait list are too long
6. once you get your rn degree, how do you think it
will impact your life?
a. i will have more opportunity to pick better jobs.
the idea of making more money is great. i want
to buy a bigger house.

MICU, ICU, NICU, Peds
4. How do you keep up your momentum to study for

I want to be done with school...someday!
5. If you had to do it all over, would you go to
traditional classroom or stick with Distance
learning?

will impact your life?
Getting to work in the hospital dept that I would like...Oh yea and more money is always a bonus.

pca 2 years, unit clerk 2 years, ala 5 years, medical records 3 years, lpn 3 years

ltc - skilled unit
3. what setting would you like to work in once you
get your rn?
not sure at this point.. leaning towards l & d, maybe telemetry or m/s
4. how do you keep up your momentum to study for
exams?
paying for the test and then scheduling it in a month/month and a half.. only way to keep me focused
5. if you had to do it all over, would you go to
traditional classroom or stick with distance
learning?
i chose to go the distance learning route so i wouldn't have to spend so much time away from my family, but it is difficult to keep that motivation up! i would probably go the traditional route b/c of that if i had to do it over again
6. once you get your rn degree, how do you think it
will impact your life?
financial freedom, or darn close to it! lol it'll open up so many opportunities that i don't currently have as an lpn. my dream is to become a travel nurse.
