Poll: how many hours do you work per week, including overtime and being called in?

Specializes in OR.

I work between 32 and 40 per week. I'm 32 flex and always exercise my option to flex down once per schedule. Per union rules they can flex me down twice per schedule but I've only been flexed down once in the last year. We're very well staffed so it's very rare to offered OT where I work and the single people always take all the call which is just fine with me :)

Specializes in O.R., ED, M/S.

50 to 60 hours per week not counting any weekend call.

Specializes in OPERATING ROOM, ICU.

It depends on staffing. Currently working 40 hr week, generally 5-10 hours call-back per two week period. Overtime is only paid on hours over 40 per week. Thanks to those Travelers for helping out! Otherwise, sometimes it seems it's work till you drop (or wish you could drop)!

I work about 40-45 hrs per week, minus call back since that can fluctuate dramatically. Currently I am on-call every 4th weekend but unfortunately will be changing to every 3rd after Jan 09. :( Call weekend plus your reg. work week can add up to an easy 70 hr week if you are unlucky. I'm and RNFA though and our call weekend is Fri-Mon. a.m.

When i was full time i was working 40 hours a week. If i was on call it would be 44-48 hours a week
