This is really for Ontario, Canada nursing students. Have you had or know someone who has had problems with your clearance from the RCMP? I am currently at day 155 waiting and am about to lose my year because I still have not received my clearance from the RCMP.

Why you did not call them or just come in the office and ask them? In my school, when I was a student, placement office accepted just receipt from the Police office.
I have called them, emailed them, physically went to the local office and I am currently having my MP get the Minister of Public Safety Involved. The only answer i get is "in process". My co-ordinator has been trying to find out what is going on as well. So far, nothing.

I have heard that the new requirements make it up to 120 days. That's ridiculous for 155? Did they tell you that they had a hit with someone? Have you done fingerprinting?

Wow, what town are you in, and which school? I went to Sheridan, and I got the CPIC in Oakville, and it took me about a week to get back. That was in September. I just applied for a new CPIC in Oakville so I can get licensed, and it took about 1.5 weeks to get back. Your school requires an RCMP check? Is that the same thing as a CPIC?
They have changed the requirements (JUST!) now for police clearances, you need to be checked by the RCMP for every school in Ontario.
Apparently they are trying to change these requirements (MPs) because there are so many issues because of it.
