Points for Lonestar RN program

Does anyone know what the cut-off is for the RN program at Lonestar as far as points goes? 12 is the total possible points. I was curious to know how far will they go down ?

I have seem them go as far down as 10.5, according to some of the other posts on here.

okay. Thanks

TBH, 10.5 is on the very low side. My sister got in with an 11.55 a couple of years ago and she was the second to lowest in her class; the lowest being something around an 11.45.

When people ask the cutoff, it is almost impossible to judge year-to-year, campus-to-campus because the actual cutoff itself is based entirely on the scores of all the applicants, as well as how many applicants total.

The cutoff score is simply going to be just a bit lower than the lowest accepted score, to account of alternates. If you have a lot of applicants, and 30-40 people did really well and scored 11.6 or 11.8 on average, your cutoff is going to be very high. Conversely, if there aren't very many applicants and the scores were more average around 11 or 11.2 then you may see a cutoff at the lowest score of 10.5.

It's all relative. I would create a post on here to see if anybody else is applying to your school, during your semester and ask what the got on their HESI, as well as their total application points, to try and get an idea of the field.

Either way, good luck! I have my mom and my sister that have went through in the last 10 years so I have lived and breathed Lone Star nursing programs. I am going to be in the upcoming LVN program at Kingwood!!

How many points did you score on your application out of the 12 possible? And to what school(s) are you applying to?

11.45 to cyfair and kingwood, 1st and 2nd choices respectively. how about u?

i've been reading threads and it does make sense that every semester varies. i was just so surprised with how my grade turned out compared to the majority which is most likely higher than what i have got. straight A student, but i never reviewed for the HESI. my a&p and vocabulary killed me, got a 80 on both... otherwise i would have gotten a better score. im just crossing my fingers real tight! =(
