Hi all,
I start grad school this fall at the university of Alabama at Birmingham. At orientation, they told us they would wave the OR hours required to complete a First Assist sub-specialty.
My major is in pediatrics NP and I was interested in the First Assist. However, I think this is a very narrow area for PNPs. Can anyone give me a little feedback please? Ty.

You could maybe work for a pediatric surgeon and utilize a dual set of skills, but likely you might find yourself split between FA and PNP careers. Which pays more? The answer is there. ?

Thanks for the reply! This might sound foolish but I re-evaluated my reasons for wanting to be an NP..and for the FA I only thought about money and it sounded exciting and impressive but it's not what I want to do as an NP. I picked a different subspecialty...forensics. It doesn't seem to pay but it's the area I want with pediatrics.
