Im 22 years old in good shape and I am currently finishing up my BSN and graduate in May. I have talked to PMHNP programs that said I can start classes in the fall of 2013. My question is, Is there still a need for psychiatric nurses in the armed forces? I talked to an army recruiter and he said that psychiatric nursing was a in very high demand, but that was a year ago. Everything I read says that they want ICU nurses. I don't mind ICU nursing, but I love psych nursing. Just wondering if anybody had some information for me. Thanks
