Newbiern, I think that is a question that belongs to the immigration part of the forum. see post..
"Any questions pertaining to working in the US, or with immigration questions specific for the US, please post it under the International Forum."

hi newbiern200,
First, you can't bring your parents as soon as you think.. you can file a petition for your parents as soon a you become a citizen.. and that's about 5 yrs from the time you migrated. this is what the law are saying. secondly, about getting married after you migrated,, think about this.. it is better for you to marry, before an employer petition's you. because if you marry and you are already an immigrant , it will take 3-4 years before you can bring your husband to the US. so if you really love your BF. marry him before any paper works done.. because it will make him included in the employer's petition and be happy together fly to the US.. and besides it's still RETROGRESSION.. no AVAILABLE VISA YET FOR NURSES. this is just an advice.. take it or leave it. good luck!!

Will move thread to the International Forum where it is more appropriate.
The above posters are correct. You will need to be a US citizen before you can petition for your parents, meaning that you will be in the US for five years minimum. And if you come over and then wish to petition for your spouse after the DS-230 is submitted, it will be about two years at the earliest for them to get to the US. They will not be able to follow you immediately.
