Hi Everybody: First I'm very happy, because my Embassy interview has bee dated for next month. But, I'm really confused, because we ( my family and I) need Police Certificates, and In my country they won't issue this certificate to my daughter, beacuse she's considered minor(16 years old) minority endas at 18 years old, I have asked at differen Police offices and the answer was the saame, it's illegal. I think there should be a similar document that could be issued, so I'll continue asking. Did anyone heard about a similar situation?
thank you all,

What you need is a "certificado de buena conducta". (certificate of good conduct) Versus "Certificado de antecedented penales" (certificate of crimal record) When I lived in Puerto Rico we needed this in order to get a job. It can be issued to minors as well. Here is more info on your country. Good luck
They state that anyone who is 15 years or older must obtain one. So your 16 year old is old enough.:)

Hi: thank you for the information, but I've called the US Embassy and, according to Uruguayan law, minors don't need to present this document: They forgot to tell it in the letter. Yes, I know that some time ago it was issued for minors ( during the dictatorial period 1973- 1985) But things have cahged a lot since then and now it's illegal to issued this kind of certificate to minors as they aren't lawfully responsible, and can't be processed by law.
Thank yoiu anyway for your promt response.

I think only person above 18 years old require a police certificate. Here in the Philippines, the US Embassy will only ask that if the person applying for immigrant visa is 18 years old and above.
Why don't you visit the website of the US Embassy in your country and see.
