Kadi,
you need to sit down with a guidance counselor and discuss. The nursing program, like any degree, has specific classes you need to take. Also, for nursing, you can not sign up for the nursing classes like you would English or Math. You have to get accepted into the program. I suggest you sit down with a counselor and have them compare the classes you have taken with the pre-requisite and general ed requirements of the nursing program.
Usually, the classes that seem to be pretty common for the Associate level nursing programs are Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2, Microbiology, Psychology (lifespan), Nutrition, Sociology, a college level Math course, English, Speech and a Humanities. My college has the extra requirement of having to become CNA (nursing assistant) certified.
Hey well first of all good luck. You need to find out who the Nursing Program Chair is and it's advisors and sit down to speak with one of them. They will tell you exactly which classes you MUST take. You will probably also have to take an entrance exam later so your classes will prepare you for that too. But here is a list of classes you might expect.
Microbiology.
A&P 1 and 2
Advanced A&P
Chemistry
Pharmacology
Medical Terminology
Medical Law and Ethics
Psychology
Sociology
Health
Nutrition
English
Intermediate Algebra
Communications (Speech)
Um... that's all I can think of... but as I said... you need to talk to an advisor ASAP!
