Nursing Students General Students

Published

I will be starting clinicals this fall, and I am so excited. However, I found a posting on this site that recommended NOT going into nursing. There was numerous replies agreeing that nursing won't be what you expect when you finally get a job. I'm also so sick of hearing how your personal life will suffer. I have a fiancee and according to these threads, it is doomed. I refuse to beleive this. I'M GOING TO SCHOOL!!! Not leaving the state for the next 2 years. I know I will have to study alot and he's fine with that. I just dont understand these horror stories.

Why is there so much negativity?? Is nursing all you imagined? Have any relationships suffered??

Thanks so much:o

Keep your chin up! If your s.o. is supportive, then don't worry about it. I really enjoy nursing school, but yes, there are some stressful times. Where isn't there?? I'll be you'll enjoy it! My relationship with my husband, family and friends isn't falling apart...I actually feel like I have more time on my hands now compared to two years ago when I was taking BioChemistry, Genetics, Microbiology Lab, Cadavar Lab, and Pathophysiology all in the same semester. Now THAT was a stressful semester! :chuckle
