Please help with this question!

I was filling out paperwork at a home health agency I was hired for and it wasn't until then that hr went over the policies with me. She said that if documentation is not turned in by the time (midnight on Monday ) that they want it in your paycheck is held! Is this legal??? I understand they need this to bill but can they really do that??

Are you full time or Per Diem or fee for service?

Per diem

The full time agency I work for alway pay with or without note being handed in. It is a large agency compare to the per diem agency I work for. This agency will and have withheld my pay. The note are like your timesheet since you are working on your own. How do they know you are doing your job. I don't know if it is legal or not but it is done that way and I haven't heard anyone complain about it so it just might be legal. I do know with fee for service you are not getting paid until your note are in.

Ok this makes sense I was skeptical at first because I thought it was illegal but I understand now. Thank you !

My company does the same thing. Our Care Sheets are also like our time sheets where the client sighns them at each visit and this way the company knows for sure you are showing up and working your shift. We have to have them in by tuesdays at 12:00pm. If you don't turn them in then yes you will not be credited these hours untill they are handed in. Sometimes if you are late you will have to wait for the next pay check to get payed those hours.
