really need more information. however, you need to consider what is the situation of the patient postop. things that come to mind are: acute pain r/t surgical incision, risk for infection r/t invasive procedure/surgical incision, risk for urinary retention r/t catheter, postop edema.....ect. nsg dx is based on the most serious and impending problems facing the patient in the current situation. you need to look the problems up in a nsg dx handbook and then look up each potential nsg dx as it will list defining characteristics.

It's so annoying when people come here asking for others to do their homework for them. List what you have so far & we'll help you. We're not here to do everything for you. I have my own work to do!!

follow the steps of the nursing process to organize this presentation. look up everything you can find about prostate cancer: how it is diagnosed, pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and how it is treated. see http://www.cancer.gov/ - national cancer institute. pay particular attention to the signs and symptoms because they are what become the basis for the nursing problems that the patient will have. those nursing problems are then given names we call nursing diagnoses. the nursing interventions are step #3 of the nursing process and are aimed at treating the signs and symptoms that the patient has in relation to the prostate cancer. for information about turps, see http://www.surgeryencyclopedia.com/st-wr/transurethral-resection-of-the-prostate.html
for more information on how to construct a care plan, see this thread: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/help-care-plans-286986.html - help with care plans
thanks for all the infor. it really help me alot. anyway, ive come up with these diagnosis: Anxiety rt concern and lack of knowledge about the dx, treatment plan and prognosis. Alteration in Fluid and electrolyte balance rt urinary dysfuction because of prostate tumor. Alteration in comfort: pain rt treatment and prognosis of disease. Now i wud like to ask for ur opinion about the Nsg. diagnosis that i had formulated.
the patient's chief complaint i for cystoscopy and TURP. admitting diagnosis is Prostate Cancer..
1) these are not official nanda diagnoses. they are all old and were changed and updated years ago.
2) the related factor, or etiology, must be the underlying cause of the nursing problem. in all your diagnoses, it needs to be the pathophysiology causing the problem and cannot be stated as a medical diagnosis.
