John more 22 year old patient weighs 150 pounds to the emergency department after being thrown from his horse and passing out for a few minutes he regained concious, the friend who also riding horse called the squad, the patient presented with the gcs of 15 and the neuro exam was within limit the emergency department physician wroth the order for ctscan with contrast of the head, cbc, renal and metabolic profile, pt, ptt, and fnr, the nurse sent the labs and had the iv of NS at kvo, per emergency dept, protocol hanging the nurse was waiting radiology to call for the patient to do when the pt. Had an epileptic crisis. Became unconcious, stiffed his entire body, and then had violent muscle contraction, the resp. Are very shallow, and the lips and the nail bed bcame blue, the pt. lost control of bowel and bladder, bit his tongue and blood is coming out from mouth, the radiology dept. calls and s ready for the pt.

1. List in the correct order the action that should be taken by the nurse.

2.explain what type of seizure the patient s having.

the physician orders the ff. Valium (diazepam) 10 mg q10-15 prn for seizure, maximum dose of 30mg, once seizure stop, administer dilantin (phenytoin) 10mg/kg ivpb, ecg monitoring continuosly vs,gcs neuro check q30min,

1. explain what meds the nurse should provide, and what order and how they should be administer.
