:confused:Please Help! I'm going to apply for the nursing program at Delgado Charity School of Nursing for the Fall of 2011. I met with my 1st counselor (who has since left) and she told me to take the TEAS and apply in July or August which makes sense because the deadline is Sep 30 and they send the acceptance letters out in December. Well when I met with this new counselor he told me to wait to take the TEAS until after I take math 130 (precalculous) because most students have problems with the math portion of the test. However, I will finish that this fall which is after the deadline. Now he says I will still get in for the Fall as long as I keep getting A's and B's in my sciences and pass the TEAS. This just isn't making any sense to me. If I listen to him then I'll make it for the Spring semester who's deadline is in Feb. Not sure if he knows what he's talking about unless there is a late registration that I don't know about. Please Help!!! Any feedback or advice would be appreciate. Has anyone had a similiar experience? Thanx for your help in advance!!!

Unless you are assigned a councilor that you have to see each time, make an appointment with a different councilor. Or explain your concern (especially the difference with what the 1st said) and ask him to check with a councilor that been a nursing councilor longer. Maybe get it in writing, which won't protect you 100% but would help if needed.
Is there a disadvantage to taking the TEAS in the summer, and again in the fall if you need better math grade?
How strong are your math skills? You might need to take it after the math class even if it you could take it in the summer; even if it sets you back a semester.

its really basic math. Addition/subtraction, fractions, and reading graphs. You definitely do not need the pre-calc class to pass the teas.

The math is very basic on the TEAS. Honestly, most of it is stuff my 5th grade daughter learned this year. Math has never been my strong point and I scored a 92% on the math portion of the TEAS.
Thanx for the feedback ou guys. Soon2BeK10RN you really gave me hope because although math isnt my strong point I am descent in it o if you scored a 92% I hink I might be ok.
