Can someone show me how to convert this problem. Baby weight 4500gms: How many pounds and onces does the baby wiegh.

4500 grams equals 4.50 kilograms. (move decimal 3 places to the left to go from mg to kg) then multiply that number by 2.2 to go from kg to pounds. that equals, 9.9 or 9 pounds, 9 ounces. You need to memorize that 1 kg = 2.2 pounds. To go from kg to pounds, multiply by 2.2 ans from pounds to kg divide by 2.2.

4500 grams x 0.002205 ounces (conversion) = 9.9225 pounds

there are 16 ounces in a pound so 0.9225 x 16, or 14.76 ounces.

the baby's weight is 9 pounds 14.78 ounces. it could be rounded up to 9 pounds 15 ounces.
