Hi everyone,I need your advice
i graduated nursing diploma in my country Indonesia, and beside that I graduated from Public Health Degree too. After 2 years become house wife I want to go to school again, but my husband suggested me to continue to study to BSN insert of Master Public Health. I worked in hospital as a nurse 6 years and 2 years teaching in nursing school in my country. I when to Lehman College to asked some adviced. they said I have get NY state license, if I want go to school and take RN - BSN Program. So this is my problem started.
August 2013 I submit my application for CGFNS and New York State on November. CGFNS keep asking me to sent document to them , I did it via mail and email. Sometime they said they got it and another time they said they didn't get it. So they told me to sent again and again . I did couple time till Lehman collage head nursing dpartement help me, so June 2014 CGFNS said I passed and wait for NYState for more instruction. Since that I called NY State every 2 weeks, and they said waiting for process, finally on January 2015 I got email. That lady who review my document said CGFNS not complied my credential so she gave me form to sent to my school and my license authority. She said I can't sent by my self, have to be school and license authority if I do it by my self they will not process it. So I sent that form to my country (Indonesia) on March both my school and my license aouthorty inform me that they already sent it back to NY State, the gave me tracking number, and I knew NYState recived it. On June I called them and she asked me to sent document again via email, I sent document what she need same as my school and my license authority sent to them. I keep calling them every week and she said she will review it but till now there isnt any progress . My mother in law said better I ask agency to help, cuz one of her friend daughter in law did everything in Korea, now she RN here. Please could you help me, what should I do, I fell my dream to going to school very hard .

The BON may have a backlog of internationally educated nurse(IEN) applications and your application may be sitting in queue with the other applications. If the NY BON confirmed that they have received all the necessary documents, they will process it when they get to it.
Thank you for your information. It means BON collect all IEN applications together, when all documents complete from all IEN applications they'll process it? It's mean I have to wait for other applications members. How long does it take for others to wait? In my case, BON already received all my documents, in my original language and English translation. My old license and my new license because during that process my license expired. I already explained to them. I am sorry, I have so many questions. I hope you will not feel bother about it.

If I remember rightly NY meet once a month for IEN applications
Every month? Me already over 3 months. I'm very eager to go to school, RN-BSN program. If this still not going through I plan to go to associate degree

But if they have a lot of IEN applicants, they won't get through them all every month.
Honestly, licensure in some states just takes a long time. I'm an American nurse and the last time I just wanted to endorse my license to another state, very straightforward, even that took two or three months. (Other states are much faster.)
It sounds like you have done everything really well. Don't give up on your license yet. It would be a shame to go through a whole ADN program if it wasn't necessary.
You are smart not to go through an agency in this case. Your mother-in-law's friend's daughter probably owes a lot of money to that agency, and also probably had to wait much longer than you have. When you get your license you'll be free and clear to work anywhere. A piece of advice, don't take advice on nursing licenses or jobs from anyone who isn't a nurse. The general public thinks they know more than they do. I wouldn't even expect my mother to understand about a nursing license for an American, much less something like this.
You sound like a nice, smart, pro-active person and reading your letter, I feel pleased that we will be welcoming you into nursing in the US.
