Play Project-3 mo old

Hello! Third semester nursing student here. Working on my 5 weeks peds class and we have to do a play project. My client is a 3 month old. I know this age range is the trust vs. mistrust but I'm not sure how to incorporate play into that. I was thinking of maybe doing a sensory board or sensory bag! In your opinion do you think either of those would be too old for the client. It also has to be 15 minutes of play time. That seems like a lot for one or two things for a 3 month old. Any help is appreciated.

What did you find in your growth and development book about developmental tasks and appropriate toys for this age group? What does a three-month-old do? (Note, I did not say, "What can a three-month-old do." "Does" is different, and that's what you want to work with.)

When you have those, you can think of ways play can work with it. Remember what the fabulous Penelope Leach has to say about play: "You are the best toy your baby has." (Your Baby and Child from Birth to Five)

Nice quote! Thank you. I have information from my book. I just am not the creative type. Unfortunately my instructor wants a physical object, not just us singing or interacting with the client, which I agree is the best play. :)

The child doesn't necessarily have to manipulate an object, right? ((((hint)))

Crinkling cellophane paper can initiate vision tracking, turn of head& attempts to reach for paper. Most infant/toddler toys don't have to be over the top. Think of a simple rattle.
