Hello,

I am doing research for one of the Infection Control Nurses.

Is anyone doing "Plastic Rounding" or "Plastic Rounds" at their hospital? This is a newly coined term in which nurses in acute care hospitals round on patients with central venous catheters, PICC lines, indwelling urinary catheters, implanted ports, etc. to identify infections. Any information would be helpful. Contact information would be great.

Thank-you in advance,

It used to be done where I am, but it wasn't effective and there are clinical outcome managers who essentially perform that function on the individual units.
