I am a new graduate and recently started my job at a large hospital. I love what I do! I am so motivated right now to get going with my career, but there is so much I want to do yet. I am looking into volunteering at Planned Parenthood in addition to my .8 day/night shifts at my regular workplace.
My question is, what can I expect if I work at Planned Parenthood as a male? I am certified as a Public Health Nurse and am an RN. My future goals would be to start graduate school within the next 6 months and eventually be a nursing professor down the road.
I want to get involved as much as possible in my community and feel I can do so much to help people in need. I can imagine myself doing teaching or patient care work at PP, but don't want to do anything administrative.
Just looking for ideas! Thanks!

Thanks for the responses everyone. With PP being a large provider of reproductive health services, I know I will get a completely different experience from the cardiac telemetry job I hold.
I can't wait for what I will be able to offer!
Anyone have suggestions for reading? I want women (and men) to feel complete trust in me while providing them care. I always like to brush up on my current knowledge, so any advice is appreciated :) Thanks!

It does interest me to be a part of this category of service. Volunteering here would give me the experience in public health and education that I am looking for before grad school. I am leaning toward getting my MSN in education at Walden.
Curious - does anyone know if PP will provide malpractice/liability insurance for their volunteer nurses? Is this something of large concern?
Thanks,
Jason
