Before going to nursing school I had a previous degree in a similar field. I was wondering if you can use a paper you wrote from a previous class and use it in a nursing school class. The paper I wrote that I want to use is online, so a plagiarism checker would definitely be able to find it. Keep in mind the paper that's online would have my name on it, so its obviously mine and I'm not stealing it from the internet.
What do you think about re-using a paper?
"If it is against the rules, it IS cheating. "
True. Which at that point it would only be a moral dilemma for me.
Then we could get into the whole discussion of why do I need to write a paper about public health when
1. This class is basically a duplicate of one I've taken before
2. I have absolutely no interest in the subject and I hate hate hate writing papers >.
-Which leads into the old argument "When will I ever need to do this as a nurse?!"
but thats a whole other topic.
One of the tips from someone when I mentioned going to grad school was to write each paper on the same topic. That way, you already have an established body of research and only need to find sources specific to the focus of that particular paper. That sounds much more ethical to me than turning in the exact same paper twice.

Yes, I do agree with you. As a nursing student its really all about protecting yourself. Whether its right or wrong, the last thing I would want is to get thrown out of school.
