To the SRNAs/CRNAs that went to USUHS, where is a good place to live during the didactic year at Bethesda MD? I hear that base housing has a long waiting list and an even longer commute, and that rent and housing is expensive as heck. I've got a wife and two large dogs, and an O-2 pay grade. Any suggestions on affordable/safe housing, with a reasonable commute?

Hello, I can't help you with your original question although in a pinch I have a full basement apartment in MD available for short term stay until you find something permanent.
I was actually interested because this is a recent post and you're asking about housing near usuhs. Did you recently get accepted? I did. Just patiently waiting for the next step.
I was also told by my recruiter pay grade is 0-1 for the 3 years of school. TIG/TIS still accrues.
So this is wrong. I have a year left and have been getting paid full O3 pay, which is my current rank. The O1 thing is for the baby docs.
