Hi all,
My hubby and I are moving down to the Orlando Area (hubby will be working at Orlando international Airport) Looking for nice areas/apartment complexes to check into to rent at 1st then we are looking to buy in a new development (house). Do not mind a small commute less than 30 minutes, if anyone could give me any info it would be much appreciated. also some info on areas to avoid etc......

I would recommend the 32837 or 32824 zip codes. Nice areas with lots of new construction homes and nice apartments. Just a quick trip to the airport via 417. This is the area I grew up in...Best Wishes :)

Depends on what one can afford. Housing in FLorida is just plain insane right now. Homes people bought for nothing now go for huge money. Its on the news here almost every night. One example was a home that was $89,000 in 1989, the lady bought a couple year ago for $175,000 and now it was listed at $499,000, and its just a small 3 br with no yard really to speak of. Mind you it is in Orlando proper.
If you really want to stick to a 30 min drive goal look towards the east of the airport. Interview some realestate people to get an idea whats out there. If the 30 min can be longer ie an hour that can actually put you as far a way this direction ie East as the coast and Titusville/Melbourne area.

I live in an apartment complex in the 32822 area code. I am only a few miles from the airport. I really like it here. It's nice and quiet and conveniently located to a lot of things.

Dont have much info for you but my sister is trying to move to Orlando right now and is having a heck of a time. Bidding wars are going on everywhere. She can't seem to be fast or rich enough. One house she tried to buy sold for $30,000 MORE than the asking price! It's insane! Good luck!
Thats the market down here. Saw one night on the news a realtor had a home listed for less than a week and had 14 yes 14 offers the owner was sorting through. The whole metro are is just exploding. My stepdaughter and her family live about 30 mins from Disney to the Southwest in Winter Haven dependant on traffic. Homes are going up like grass growing and being build faster than the land can be cleared, dried and leveled.
