Places hiring new grad nurses in Illinois

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi I am a soon to be BSN graduate. I have 7 years of experience in health care working in hospitals/nursing homes as a certified nursing assistant and phlebotomist. I have been applying with no luck. Jobs are posted for new grads, then they take a look and one day later say they cannot offer me at job at this time, or another canidate has been chosen. I am confused because the jobs were just posted. I am qualified, worked at a Magnet hospital for 4 years before starting nursing school and I have a degree in another field. Any suggestions or ideas as to how to get my resumes and applications noticed? Or can anyone direct me to any hospitals or medical centers/nursing homes that are hiring in and out of the Chicagoland area. I graduate in May and I am starting to get nervous, I have applied to over 50 positions since January and no takers yet.:nurse::confused::eek: THANK YOU!!!

It really depends where in Illinois you want to be. In Central and Southern Illinois, there is a demand for New Grads as well. If you can relocate, consider moving downsate for a while and get your "feet wet" so to speak. I hope you are going to take your NCLEX soon. It's a plus for hospitals to see you are officially a nurse. Keep up the search. Do not give up.

hi try

Advocate Health Care

I know that Good Samaritan Hospital is hiring...and Dreyer Medical is hiring as well... your best bet is to fill out the applications online and they will call you... Alexian Brothers is also hiring I think...

you might just want to get hired in anything for now, and then when you are in move to a different opening with in the company. that way they already know you and they may favor internal applicants over outsiders.

hi it's me again.. also have you tried Provena...Welcome to Provena Health

they always have positions up as well.

also how about Fresenius Medical Care - Renal care and kidney dialysis information - Fresenius, they are always hiring as well. i don't know if you want to do dialysis, but i got a lot of interviews from them.

There is also Edward Hospital, but they are very hard to get into.
