Hi everyone! With the Spring 2021 CAP deadline quickly approaching, I thought it would be neat to network with any other students who are applying. I just submitted my application a few days ago, and I am beyond nervous and anxious for an answer already. I am worried that not having prior healthcare experience will hurt me, and I am preparing mentally for a rejection with the intent to pick up a second job as a caregiver so that I can potentially be awarded more points the next go around. I have an A in both A&P 1&2, an A in Writing but unfortunately, only a "B" in Math 142 because I took that course right out of High School many years ago and I am afraid, at the time, I did not apply myself as I should have. So I will be retaking that course next semester if I am rejected this go around. I would love to share this experience with other students and am eager to hear all about your journeys as well.

Hello!
I just submitted my app. Surprised there's no activity in this thread. Normally there seems to be plenty of chatter before each application period.
How many points did you self calculate at? With the exclusion of the HESI this semester, I'm afraid it's going to make it even more competitive than usual.
Hi!
I was pretty surprised also. My total self calculated points are low ?, only 52. I sadly have no prior healthcare experience and obtaining that “B” in Math 142 really hurt me. I plan to retake it next semester in case I don’t get in.
I am really hoping that we can take the HESI for next semesters deadline to apply, in case I am rejected this go around. I agree in thinking that it will be more competitive than usual.
How many points do you have?
My self-calculated points put me at 58. 52 is still a good score so I think you have a good shot at getting in!
I haven't seen anyone mention yet what the minimum score was that got in for the last application period. Hopefully someone posts that in the other thread.
Looks like acceptance letters are expected to go out by the middle of October for this round. Hopefully it's sooner.

Hey guys! I just applied on Friday! I don’t know what to expect, this is my first time applying. I saw on a previous thread the cut off was 80 points but it was when the HESI was required. I hope we get in!
Hi! I know, I also saw that 80 was previously the cutoff. That’s a pretty high score. I’m curious to know if they are accepting as many students as they normally do, amidst the covid pandemic.
Have you self calculated? My total points came in pretty low but I will remain optimistic while also emotionally preparing myself for a rejection this go around ?♀️.
Was the 80 for this last application period? I don't think I ever saw it posted in the main thread.
I have 60 points. I wouldn’t worry, I think you have a shot with 52 points. In the confirmation email it said the max was now 70 points instead of the usual 100 since the HESI has been waived. I just wish I knew how many people applied. I’m already going crazy just waiting to see if I’m accepted or not haha! Based on previous threads it seems like if you are 20 points or less from the maximum amount of points you get in!
Oh that is amazing, it seems like both of you have an amazing shot of getting in ❤️.
Hard to tell since the cutoffs have been so different each of the last several application periods.
I'd still say anything in the 50s or above will give you a good chance.
Anyone else refreshing their email daily, in hopes of an email? I noticed that last fall, acceptance/rejection letters were delivered by September 23rd, so fingers crossed that history repeats itself. It is just so hard to tell, what with COVID and all these days. I am resisting the urge to call or email Amanda asking how many applicants there are this go around ?.
I hope that happens, but I'm not counting on it.
The email response I got when I submitted my app said that the committee would meet at the end of this month, so I'm guessing we won't hear from them until October. It also said that if we hadn't received a response by mid October to email back.
It would be nice to know how many applications they got... You gonna email her?
