Hi southernnurse68,

For the phone interview I was asked for my top three areas to work and to name a time where I had a difficult time with a coworker and how I resolved it. Strengths and weaknesses. Why do I want to work in the ED.

For the interview with manager and director I was mainly asked how often did I show up late or call out. The rest of the time I asked majority of the questions. Then I was given a tour of the department.

Thanks for the reply! Were you given a clinical scenario and have to talk about what you would assess and expected orders as part of your interview with the manager and director? Also, what was the base pay you were offered? I've seen $22 or $23 for the Atlanta location but I was wondering if it was different for the other locations.

Congrats NurseMika for getting the job offer!!! I applied to the July announcement (Atlanta & Fayetteville) the first week of February but have noticed on a different thread nobody has been contacted for those locations. Do either you remember if the job announcement was open for 30 days, which could explain the delay in getting contacted? I applied to Piedmont, Emory and WellStar, which I was contacted by three days later by Emory and WellStar to set up interviews.

It it is my dream to work for Piedmont, so praying I'll get an interview that leads to a job offer. I appreciate any insight you can provide because I'll be relocating from New Irleans in May immediately after graduating. Thanks for any insight.

How is it so far? I just accepted a position for the RN residency in the ED at Piedmont Atlanta! I start July 31st.

Hey! For my interview they asked all behavioral questions. Such as why the ED, tell me about a time you had a difficult patient, and etc. However, I have heard that for some interviews they ask clinical scenario questions. Such as how would you handle a stroke patient using the nursing process. So, I would be prepared for those type of questions too just in case they may ask. Probably look up some case studies on stroke, DVT, DKA, and etc. Even if they don't ask you those type of questions its better to be on the safe side, so if they were to ask you won't stumble on it. They also, asked about how my prior experience as a PCT will help me as a nurse, what is the most difficult part of your job, describe a time you went above and beyond for a patient, and tell us about a time you used leadership skills. I think they asked a few more questions in addition to that, but those are ones I remember.
