Piedmont Fayette Nurse Extern

How in the world do I qualify myself to get hired as a nurse extern here? I want more than anything to get hired but they don't even forward my application to the manager before rejecting me. My qualifications so far are:

1 year Nurse Tech/Monitor Tech experience in IMCU

2 completed semesters of Nursing school (BSN)

- CPR certified

Will be considered a senior beginning this August

I'm willing to work nights and weekends and yet no calls

[ladside, BSN, MSN, LPN, RN]

I think the norm is a completion of the first year in the nursing program. Are you already employed at Piedmont Fayette? I'm employed with Piedmont Newnan as an LPN. I'm attending college as well. But every excuse that I hear them provide boils down to the budget and economic cutbacks. I work with a couple of PCTs that have completed LPN school and waiting to take boards and they were told that there are no positions for them there as LPNs but they would be welcome to remain there as PCTs for as long as they want. The reason given, there again, is budget cuts. Believe it or not, with my 23 years of experience, when I tried to go fulltime from a PRN position, they told me there were no openings...only RNs and selected ones at that. Good luck!
