So, I recently scheduled a job interview for the PICU of the #1 hospital I wish to work at. I will say right now, I have not graduated yet, and wont until May
Regardless, I am on the job hunt. I will say I have ZERO PICU experience. I have awesome pediatric experience (from home life, previous daycare job, clinicals at school, etc). My biggest concern about my interview is that they will ask in depth PICU questions that I will know nothing about, and then I'll end up looking like an idiot.
Im incredibly nervous due to this. Ive been told that since im just a graduate nurse, that employers understand I still need experience and thus wont go into such incredible details with their question. But I dont know. Advice?
I really don't think any interview actually consists of in depth clinical questions ...they usually just ask situational / personality questions that gage if you're a good fit for the unit in terms of how you handle conflict, get along with others, etc. Don't worry too much!
Wow, it's awesome you have an interview so early in the job search process for May grads! Congrats! May I ask what kind of hospital you interviewed at?
Ohh nice!! Yeah I was just wondering if it was magnet or like a smaller hospital but that answered my question! I'm actually from the Philadelphia area. Do you go to school around here?
hey, how are you? I'll be interviewing for the peds dept, i am a bit nervous for my interview. I'm traveling by plane for this interview, can u tell me what questions they asked you? also can u shadow the same day? B/c I can't make a second trip there.
