I once had a doc accuse me, in front of God and everybody else, of not being able to multi-task and causing the clinic to be running behind by 2 hours. I suggested, just as publicly, that perhaps the reason the clinic was running 2 hours late was because the first patient was scheduled at 0800 and he didn't show up until 1000 and he could do the math.

Yes, we have a few providers who are routinely late, but never so egregiously late as what you describe. And as this is not a private practice, and our providers are employed by the hospital network and have a manager, there are disciplinary measures that can be taken if necessary.
How's the job hunt going?
I have been offered prn position with other doc after my doc leaves. I am considering it.... I will probably start with a few half days... after a good long break.
So this clinic is owned by the hospital? Who is the physician's immediate supervisor?
If she is running so far behind, do you or someone else have to stay there until all patients are seen, and if so, how do you avoid OT?
That was one of the main driving forces behind making sure our providers are on schedule - if they're still seeing patients at 5:30 pm, that means the MA has to stay, and that pushes the MA into overtime, which is forbidden. I used that rationale to justifying getting rid of the last 4:30 appointment slot on the providers' templates.
sending you a pm klone!
