PHSC 2016 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Going to jumpstart this topic!

Good Luck to all the 2016 hopefuls!

Does anyone know the system they use for the entrance into the programs ?

I believe the calculation is

pre req gpa/4.0= GPA

teas score*.45 + GPA*.50 + 5= composite score for RN program

tthe 5 is if you are a resident

I'm not getting a correct composite score

once you get your pre req gpa make sure you move the decimal point over two places to the right, then times that by .50

I've started a new thread if interested :-) PHSC Fall 2016 Hopefuls.

i cant find it... can you send the link?

Unfortunately, I did not do well on the TEAS. I am not going to apply to the RN program (even though I have everything else completed) but I am considering applying to the LPN program. Does anyone know if a TEAS score of 62 would even have a chance?

I got a 70 on the TEAS, but got into the generic RN program with a 4.0 and Pasco residency. It's worth a shot.

It doesn't hurt to try. Check some of the past threads and try and determine where the entrance point was. I see that they have a new thread one post up for the Fall 2016 as well.

I went to the one in April and it was not worth my time. They basically went over what was on the test, how much time etc.. They gave a few sample type questions but no strategies. Guess I expected too much considering it's been several years since HS and I forgot Physical Science & never took Chemistry. I don't know WHY chem is on this test. Should be a pre-req if they expect you to know it. Anyhow I got a 70% and applied because not enough time to re-take the Teas for the fall. My GPA is good, 3.35 but I see many are WAY higher. I decided to try LPN due to my scores, I will bridge later if accepted. If not it's EXPENSIVE private school for me. (do I seem stressed?) ARRRGGHHH
