Hi Corey!
I am applying to the phsc nursing program. I'm a complex case in that I recently failed out of a program in my fourth semester. It was devastating because it was due to my clinical rotation that I failed. I had trouble in the past with clinical anxiety because of the lack of additional healthcare exposure I needed conducive to my learning style. The universities have 200+ nursing students to cater to and that was probably my mistake. I needed a much smaller one to one type of school. I plan to have a second chance and succeed this time around now that I have secured a job as a student nurse in the CVICU. USF didn't give me a second chance but I know another school will.
My prereq gpa is a 3.8. I had all A's and one B in statistics. What's funny is that I took all of my prereqs at PHCC...back when they were named PHCC lol. I'm purchasing a TEAS review book and studying all of April to take the TEAS in May and turn in my application June. One door closed...but god willing another will open for me and I will have that second chance to prove myself. I was so close but I take from my experience., learn and correct my mistakes, and focus on my dream of becoming a nurse :).

With fall admission to PHSC's nursing program opening up tomorrow, I thought I would start a new thread completely dedicated to the Fall hopefuls. There hasn't been a lot of activity on the 2015 thread and hope that with a thread specifically for fall, more people will be willing to jump in and ask questions, share news, or just express the same worry the rest of us are feeling.
To start us off, my name is Corey, as my username implies, and I'm a tutor at the East Campus TLC. I specialize in A&P 1 and 2, but also cover a little math, English, microapps, and developmental reading. I finished my prereqs for the nursing program with a 4.0 and received a 91.3 on my TEAS. Using the following formula that was posted by nohlsson1:
Example:
GPA 4.0*25=100*.45=45
TEAS 80/2=40
Resident +5
45+40+5= would have an entrance score of 90 for the program
My overall score would be a 95.7 and I'm planning to only apply to the East campus.
I'm super excited about applying and talking to people that are in the same boat I am, so I'll try to keep this thread up to date and will keep track of the list of applicants as people hopefully start replying.

As for everyone that is looking to take their TEAS before June 15th and is searching for a study group/ TEAS review, your best bet is to contact the TLC at the campuses you're comfortable driving to. Even if the TLC doesn't have a workshop or review scheduled, if you show interest and ask them to call you if they do plan something, there's a good chance the TLC will set something up simply because students are interested.
If no one asks about them, they assume no one is interested and won't go through the time and effort to organize one. Just a tip from someone that's worked in the TLC for almost two years!
