plasmic, LPN 1 Article; 11 Posts Jul 20, 2010 I am sure that we have rights tied up to our Philippine Constitution.I tried to scan my book on nursing jurisprudence and googled it but can't find a clear cut list made by our Philippine Nurses Association. I was particularly interested in this subject as I began my work at a government hospital and I felt that the head nurse was verbally abusive and felt like she was simply being mean. Second, there's this culture wherein you don't just "bother" doctors to report unusual findings/assessment especially at night as they constantly stay at their quarters and are not that visible at night.I know that the nurse has the right to advocate their patients but before doing so must be able to know their rights as well to assert themselves without fear of intimidation and hostility.

jadcool31 1 Post Aug 17, 2010 :)...this wud be very helpful in our nursing research...we conducted a research if Filipino nurses in our locality are aware of their rights and are they practicing them. we used ANA's Nurses bill of rights, thinking that PNA is under ANA. and i wish to validate if it is really true that PNA is under ANA. hope we could produce the best research with your help. hihihi...
plasmic, LPN 1 Article; 11 Posts Aug 20, 2010 Good luck on your research. I hope that you could also do a comparative analysis between private and public hospitals as i think that the dynamics change depending upon the setting. I am also doing a research on bullying among nurses/health care practitioners.Hope someone can post a site that would be very useful.Anecdotes or analysis are very much appreciated.Anyway, hope your research would help nurses to be more aware of their rights or at least assert themselves more in the workplace as I believe that our profession's image depends on how we value or exude ourselves as dignified professionals.
