wow! its really amazing how they train their nurses! i think i am fortunate enough for being hired..thanks for the info's u have shared..i has only 1 question? what did you mean in" unless you go to the OR"? how long usually b4 a nurse1 became nurse2..was their shifting really 12hrs?

Some people are hired for the OR from the start. Shifting IS 12 hours.

Once you have started working in the ICU complex, they will start your processing from Nurse I to Nurse 2.

I believe you have to answer the other inquiries on this thread because they are all application-related.

PM(our forum has Private Messages that you can send just like text messaging) me if you have any questions.

to happy me: i applied last sept06, yes,the process is long..they said it usually takes about 6mos to complete the entire process..but in my case its longer, because i am called for panel interview only last may..8mos after my psycholgcl and clinical exam last sept06...so if you're willing to wait that long then pursue ur application

to BonesGilmore : i am not really sure on this, but some says it is a 2yr. contract, the hiring process is a long, like i said 6mos in most cases but in my case its longer...i suggest that you apply no if youre really interested, but you must be willing to wait that long, they also advise their applicants to apply to other hospitals then just return when hired..becoz of the long waiting period..they administer 2 exams 1st is a psychological exam which is really long and d 2nd 1 is a clinical exam..each exam was given in a separate day...

By the way, Lieu, when I was still working there...

But I don't know if it has changed now.

Before, 12 Hour Shifting starts 7 - 7.

Usually you go for one morning 7am to 7pm and then the next day you are nights 7pm - 7am then they give you two days off.

hi everyone...congratulations LIEU for obtaining a job at PHC. i've dream of working in one of the prestigious hospitals in our country because of the comprehensive training and experience that i can gain from them to become a good nurse and a competent one. i would like to ask what were their requirements at PHC...do they accept second coursers, do they require experience from other hospitals?

i hope you will have time to reply too our querries. thanks and goodluck in your work at PHC.

Their requirements includes TOR,Board rating, prc license, nbi clearnce, residence cert, cert of working exp.& training ( if any) , 3 ID pic(2x2), Certificate from school- General Weighted average score, TIN, and birth cert....i do not know if they accept second coursers  but i think somehow they do...no, they do not require it but if you have one i think its a plus point..

Good Luck Lieu!

Say hello to all the educators and head nurses for me. I'm sure you are busy with orientation right now! Bring a sweater!! It gets mighty cold in them classrooms!!

Hello, I'm currently working @ PHC, have been here for about a year now. I recently finished the 50th Critical Care Course. Regarding the inquiry if PHC is accepting 2nd degree course? I am a proof that 2nd coursers are welcome. Congrats LiEU. Hope to see you when you get to tour during your orientation. I'm stationed at Adult Service/Adult Pay Ward. Who knows you might be one of our orientees in the unit. Anyway we are still on 12 hours shifting, 7am-7pm 7pm-7am, so you only get to work for 3-4 shifts per week, which i think is cheaper as to transportation, meals & laundry compared to an 8 hour shifting for 5 days. If you want to become OR nurse, you can volunteer to be one,but you'll be stuck up in OR for the rest of your contract. If they assigned you to adult medical surgical ward, there are several specialized areas (ICUs) you can be channeled to, neuro, medical, recovery,ER,coronary care. They only assign female nurses to Pediatrics. See you around. LieU!!!

Nice to see a lot of things haven't changed. Neobrylle, you are what is known before as Mens ward/ Womens ward (MW/WW) on the third floor in front of the supervisors office..

hope you are enjoying your stay

I think you have to go through a medical exam and will have your blood drawn. Sometimes you need to find a guarantor if you cant find money to pay for your blood test or something.
