I teach health occupations, certified nursing assistant, and medical terminology. I would like to give my students a brief introduction of pharmacology. I have some supplies that I would like to use with my students (pill counters, pill cutters, dosage cups etc...), giving students a brief introduction of medications, dosages, and drug categories. It has been many years since I worked as a nurse and so my current experience is minimal. Can anyone help with a lesson plan for beginning pharmacology? Some information is covered in Health Occ. and Med Term but I would like to do some hands on drug calculations and dosages.
How about something having to do with different syringe sizes and differing concentrations of medicine? That is something a lot of beginning students have trouble conceptualizing.
