Pharmacology/pathophysiology hybrid over summer?

Published

So I have 3 non nursing classes that are not prerequisites that I would have left to complete for my ADN program if/when I get it.

1. sociology 101

2. Speech/interpersonal communication

3. Pharmacology/pathophysiology

I would add Sociology to this semester but I am already taking 4 classes/14 credits and two of them are A&P 2 and Micro so I keep telling myself I shouldn't add it. (I Barely kept my sanity last semester with 17 credits, 2 kids and a pt job)

Anywho I was thinking of taking Pharm over the summer. It would be an 8 week session, online, with a meeting every other week, I guess for tests /quizzes. I have no problem self-teaching and have taken multiple classes online but none of them sciences.

What have been your experiences with summer /online/hybrid Pharm classes? Is it beneficial to take this class right before I start the nursing program (I would start in the fall) or should I wait to take it with Fundamentals?

I personally took Pharm with Fundamentals. It made so much more sense when I was already in nursing school and out there on the floor at clinical. The meds you learn about during class are later reinforced in the clinical setting which helps to make it "click." I couldn't imagine taking a Pharm course prior to starting my nursing courses, but, that is just me and the way that I learn.

Best wishes.
